Aging of the face can start as early as 20 and continues throughout your life. How fast your face ages and to what extent differs from person to person. As you age, loss of collagen, and elastin, bone loss along with the effects of gravity and repeated activity lead to loss of volume, drooping tissue, and deep wrinkles in the face. While serums and creams work on the skin’s surface, neuromodulators, neurotoxins, and fillers smooth and add volume to help give you a subtle, and youthful look.
At SkinWithin Aesthetics we work closely with you to create a look that will leave a much desired natural expression so your face looks like you.
It is the lines that disappear, not your expressions.
NOTE: Health Canada restricts the advertising of medications (e.g. Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, Nuceiva, Restylane, Juvederm, Teoxane, Stylage, Belotero, Belkyra, PRP, etc.) by linking them to therapeutic outcomes.

Neuromodulator or Neurotoxin is a generic term for botulinum toxins. For cosmetic purposes they can be injected into facial muscles to limit the contractions which can cause lines and wrinkles. When administered by a trained medical professional under authorization from a Physician or Nurse Practitioner, neuromodulator injections are a low risk medical procedure.
Neuromodulator injections are proven to help smooth the appearance of moderate to severe lines without changing the look or movement of the rest of your face if done professionally. Untreated muscles still work normally, so you can continue to express feelings naturally.
Cosmetic Neuromodulators are used in many areas, e.g.:
For therapeutic purposes, they can be injected into the scalp for chronic migraines, into the masseter muscle for TMJ dysfunction, or into other areas to help treat excessive sweating.
There are several Health Canada authorized brands, all with their own unique characteristics.
Women who are pregnant or trying to get pregnant, women who are breastfeeding, people who are taking certain antibiotics, have neuromuscular disorders, individuals with medical conditions that lower the body's immune response, individuals undergoing therapy that is immunosuppressive, or have an allergy to Botulinum Toxin-A should not receive injections.
You may begin to notice results within 4-5 days, with results lasting up to four months for moderate to severe frown lines. Remember that results vary from patient to patient.
The side effects can be pain, tenderness and/or bruising at the site of injection.
While side effects are possible, they are, however, rare. Our Cosmetic Injection Specialist will go over all safety information during your initial consultation.
The price depends on the amount of product needed and the areas of the face being treated. Our Cosmetic Injection Specialist will determine the right amount of product required for you to achieve a refreshed look and provide you with a cost estimate during the consultation.
